My Music

[threecol_one]

Making and sharing my music has been part of my life since I picked up a guitar in 1994. Carlos, a good friend who lived on the same floor in our freshman dorm, showed me the basics of playing. Within a week after learning a few chords from my new mentor, I had written my first song.

Through God’s providence, an opportunity to lead worship came to me quickly that year. During my senior year at college, I picked up piano and started teaching myself to play by ear. I played performances in local coffee shops and at college, with several friends.

Greg, my roommate and co-Resident Assistant, and I played together frequently. I also enjoyed playing for a girls’ group on campus called Unity. These and other friends of mine often found ourselves playing, sharing, and learning together.

Eventually a friend, Jason, and I recorded an album under the band name “Blindman’s Cane.” Jason was a talented guitarist, a good friend, and a thoughtful song-writer. This page will feature solo work and tunes from our Blindman’s Cane called “Distance.”
